HIV and HIV-associated targets
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a global health challenge causing progressive immune system decline and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Accurate detection and monitoring of HIV and related biomarkers are crucial for early diagnosis, treatment efficacy assessment, and management of HIV-associated complications.
HIV PCR kits based on real-time PCR technology provide sensitive and specific detection and quantification of HIV RNA, HIV-associated viral or yeast DNA, or human genome DNA in human samples in routine and specialized laboratory workflows. These molecular diagnostics tools support the detection of HIV and HIV-associated targets, including viral load measurement, HIV-associated viral or yeast targets such as Human herpes virus type 8 (HHV8), Cryptococcus neoformans, and Pneumocystis jirovecii (carinii) and a genetic marker (HLA-B*57:01) associated with drug hypersensitivity. Available in CE IVD-marked formats for diagnostic use and research use only (RUO) versions, these PCR assays support applications such as early infection detection, antiretroviral therapy monitoring, pharmacogenetic screening, and HIV-related disease diagnostics and research from clinical samples.
