HIV-associated targets
Testing for HIV-associated targets beyond viral detection is vital for optimizing antiretroviral therapy and managing potential drug-related complications. These targets include genetic markers linked to drug hypersensitivity (e.g., HLA-B*57:01), mutations associated with antiretroviral resistance, and co-infections influencing disease progression.
HIV-associated target PCR kits based on real-time PCR technology provide sensitive and specific detection and quantification of HIV RNA, HIV-associated viral or yeast DNA, or human genome DNA in human samples in routine and specialized laboratory workflows. These molecular diagnostics tools support the detection of HIV-associated targets, such as Human herpes virus type 8 (HHV8), Cryptococcus neoformans, and Pneumocystis jirovecii (carinii) and a genetic marker (HLA-B*57:01) associated with drug hypersensitivity. Available in CE IVD-marked formats for diagnostic use and research use only (RUO) versions, these PCR assays support applications such as pharmacogenetic screening, and HIV-related disease diagnostics and research from clinical samples.
