HLA B*5701

HLA-B57:01 (HLA B*5701, HLA-B*57:01) is a human leukocyte antigen allele associated with hypersensitivity reactions to the antiretroviral drug abacavir, used in HIV treatment. Screening for the presence of HLA-B57:01 prior to therapy initiation is critical to prevent severe, potentially life-threatening immune responses in susceptible individuals.
HLA-B57:01 PCR kits based on real-time PCR technology provide a sensitive and specific method for detecting the HLA-B57:01 allele in human genomic DNA. These molecular testing tools deliver accurate and reproducible results in routine and specialized laboratory workflows used in genetic testing laboratories.
