Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) is a partially double-stranded DNA virus that infects the liver and can cause both acute and chronic hepatitis. Chronic HBV infection significantly increases the risk of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Accurate and sensitive detection is essential for diagnosis, viral load monitoring, and treatment decision-making.
