Ehrlichia chaffeensis/muris
Ehrlichia chaffeensis and Ehrlichia muris are intracellular bacteria transmitted by ticks, causing ehrlichiosis—a potentially serious illness marked by fever, headache, leukopenia, and elevated liver enzymes. E. chaffeensis is the primary cause of human monocytic ehrlichiosis (HME), while E. muris–like organisms have been associated with emerging infections in some regions. Rapid molecular detection of these bacterial pathogens is critical for diagnosis and timely therapy.
Ehrlichia chaffeensis/muris PCR kits based on real-time PCR technology provide a sensitive and specific method for detecting E. chaffeensis and E. muris DNA in human samples together with other tick-borne disease pathogens. These molecular diagnostics tools offer accurate and reproducible results in routine and specialized laboratory workflows. Available in CE IVD-marked format for diagnostic use and as research use only (RUO) versions, these multiplex PCR assays support laboratory clinical workflows, E. chaffeensis/muris identification and diagnostics from clinical samples, applications such as tick-borne disease diagnostics, and regional vector-borne disease surveillance.
